MySQL is well known for its ease of use and stability, with features that have been in production for more than a decade. But it is also evolving, with new additions that can make your server faster and more efficient. This workshop will show in practice some of the things that you can do to improve performance with low efforts.
Technical Requirements:

Whatever the system, each laptop should have the following packages available (not installed):

MySQL tarball of 5.1.35
depending on the architecture, it should be one of the following:

• mysql-5.1.35-linux-x86_64-glibc23.tar.gz
• mysql-5.1.35-linux-i686-glibc23.tar.gz
• mysql-5.1.35-linux-ia64-glibc23.tar.gz
